7 Stylish and Affordable Lingerie Brands

We get it—it’s a little painful to fork over large sums of money on undergarments and the like that rarely see the light of day. Equally painful is wasting your hard-earned cash on lingerie that lives up to the old “you get what you pay for” adage. That’s why we made it our mission to share with you the brands that do affordable lingerie the best, from fast fashion (think Topshop) to niche labels (think Baserange).

Our advice when shopping for affordable underwear, bras, slips, and sleepwear? Stick to muted or classic hues (they look more expensive than bright colors) and avoid embellishments and prints when you’re going for a high-end look. You’ll be surprised how much of a difference it makes. Keep scrolling to check out the brands we recommend and shop our picks from each.

7 Cute Bra-and-Panty Sets That Are So Trendy

Without question, lingerie is such a personal topic, particularly when it comes to preference and shopping for the right style and fit. While we’ve shared universal tips like the three bra styles everyone should own and the surprising amount of wears your bra can last before washing, today I’m slightly switching gears and sharing how changing my go-to undergarment situation weirdly made me happier. If you’re anything like me, you probably have one or two bras you wear on repeat and then a selection of underwear in rotation. In an effort to test out some of the season’s most talked-about lingerie trends, I swapped out my basic nude bras for cute bra-and-panty sets because, as we pointed out earlier this year, matching sets are one of the biggest trends in lingerie right now. Which also means I had plenty of brands to explore during this experiment.

Fashion Designers Are Struggling to Make Masks. Here’s Why.

For some designers working on their own, the lack of consensus was exasperating. “We should have a centralized voice,” says Naomi Mishkin, the Brooklyn-based designer of the line Naomi Nomi, who spent the weekend working with her manufacturing partners in the Garment District to identify the best materials and design for a mask. “If the [government] wants to lead the way, we should let them, but we’re waiting.”

Even in the best of worlds, most fashion designers lack the supplies and manufacturing capabilities required to make N95 respirators. Named for their ability to block 95 percent of micron test particles through a seal around the nose and mouth, they are the preferred masks for medical workers treating patients with the virus—and remain in alarmingly short supply. Industrial manufacturers have stepped up to address the deficiency. Earlier this week, Honeywell announced that they would increase production of N95 masks,

GQ’s Big Fits From Home: Remember Your Forgotten Jawns

This afternoon, GQ editor in chief Will Welch kicked off “Big Fits from Home,” a new show on Instagram Live featuring GQ friends and fam. Every Tuesday at 2pm, Welch will answer your questions and chat live with celebrities, style gods, and GQ correspondents. This week, he talked about what he’s listening to in quarantine (Amen Dunes) and gave a little advice for getting a fit off when you’re in lockdown. He also got some workout tips from GQ fitness columnist Joe Holder and compared quarantine beards with our grooming correspondent, Phillip Picardi.

Holder had a lot of good advice for staying healthy, mentally and physically, in these strange and uncertain times. “Movement is key, you’ve got to move,” he noted, even if it’s just for what Holder calls an “exercise snack,” like a quick set of high knees or jumping jacks. Inspired by GQ Special projects
