Telfar x Ugg: The Year of Telfar Continues With an Ugg Collaboration

The star of Telfar Clemens has been rising for a few years now, but in 2020, the New York designer seems to be skyrocketing. He single-handedly reinvented the It bag. The CDFA just awarded him the Accessory Designer of the Year prize for it. His clothes—genderless and retro and experimental at once—are worn by everyone from playwright Jeremy O. Harris to hip-hop star Swae Lee. (When both a red-hot rapper and an award-winning writer are wearing your label, you’re doing something right.) The ‘Aliens’ Seiko Watch Was Made for 2179, but It Looks Awesome in 2020, Too

The watch is synonymous with Ghostbusters, even though Seiko had actually released this watch for real a year before the movie came out. Making watches for Kubrick and turning out the first digital timepiece in history goes a long way in solidifying a brand’s Hollywood bona fides. Accordingly, Christopher Nolan has turned to Hamilton for several of his time-warping epics. For Tenet, Hamilton produced a prop watch that combined an analog display with a digital countdown timer. Hamilton CEO Vivian Stauffer told GQ the

NYFW 2020: At Real-Live New York Fashion Week, It’s Anything but Sweatpants

Earlier this summer, talking about his fall 2021 show, Jonathan Anderson said that fashion should be a little quieter at the moment. I get that. I love the idea of a wardrobe that serves a person just trying to live with a bit of dignified glamour, like Anderson did at Loewe in July with his simple, proper coats and Prada did with its pin-neat lounge looks the same month. Very bourgeois, and full of the sort of stability many find comforting in these times. Your clothing doesn’t have to be sad sweatpants, but it doesn’t have to shout either. And anyways, all the political fashion—the “VOTE” T-shirts and all that stuff—makes me wanna claw my eyes out a little.

But there’s another school of dressers right now that wants fashion to be loud. These are people for whom fashion is a part of declaring identity, for whom
